Do you want get creative, but don't have a proper outlet to express that artistic spark before your fellow classmates? Well, you've come to the right place indeed! So look around — you just might find the very thing you need to make that first move towards recognition. You can submit any piece of writing, art, or photography you want, or you can enter our contests! We need as many pieces as possible, so please don't be shy!

Rules of Submissions
We’re accepting: SHORT STORIES, POETRY, PERSONAL ARTWORK, AND PHOTOGRAPHY.

Rules for Magazine Submissions:

BE SCHOOL APPROPRIATE with your pieces (no inappropriate references, excessive cuss words, excessive violence or racial slurs, no discriminatory terms/references OF ANY KIND; WE ARE OF FAMILY-FRIENDLY CONTENT, PEOPLE!)

SEND IN ORIGINAL PIECES ONLY (don’t copy someone else’s work, including that of a fellow student or a published author under ANY circumstances)

The submissions cannot be EXCESSIVELY long (unless you're Olivia Ruzicka, of course XD) -- ahem, but serious, leave room for everyone else, please!

There is no limit to how many submissions you can send in

Be sure to include the title of your piece, and whether you wish it to be published anonymously or under your actual name in the magazine (your choice will be shown by the title of your piece in the final product)

Send in your writing via a link to Google Docs (be sure to give us permission to view it), a Word Document, or copying and pasting the words directly into the email itself (any other method of submission simply won't work)

FOR PICTURE SUBMISSIONS: You can send in YOUR OWN pictures only, whether that is artwork (a painting, a drawing, oil pastels, etc.) or a photograph (taken by cell phone or camera) and if you do send a picture, make sure it is in the highest resolution possible
-make sure your pictures are SCHOOL APPROPRIATE, please!
8. If you want to send in a picture to pair directly with a piece of writing, please be sure to let us know, or send that picture attached to your writing submission -- don't just snag one from the internet, by the way!

Email us at sparrowandscroll@gmail.com, and we will get back to you as soon as we can! There will be a select number of pieces we'll use in the issues to come, and we'll use as many as we can for each one. Please consider -- we'd love to experience your art!

Just copy and paste "sparrowandscroll@gmail.com" into your own email draft, put the title of your piece into the title of your email, and then put your name and any other information you want to give us into the description. Attach your artwork or writing and hit send. It's that simple!
